Printed in a 24 × 29 cm format on premium semi-matte paper with a textured cover, each issue comprises approximately 170 pages and is distributed internationally by KD Presse. The magazine is available through select press kiosks, airports, railway stations, bookstores, and specialist retailers in cities including Paris, London, Milan, New York, Los Angeles, and Tokyo.

James V. Thomas founded Sky Blue in 2019 with the ambition of offering an alternative to mainstream men's publications, which had increasingly centred on sportswear and entertainment. He envisioned a magazine dedicated to elegance, craftsmanship, culture, and the traditions that continue to shape modern style. Originally from the Philadelphia area, James moved to Paris at the age of eighteen to study fashion, a decision that ultimately led him to create a publication reflecting his fascination with heritage, beauty, and exceptional savoir-faire. Today, he continues to travel extensively in search of remarkable artisans, inspiring places, forgotten histories, and, naturally, the perfect cocktail.

Over the years, Sky Blue has fostered a community of photographers, writers, designers, artisans, collectors, and creative minds who share a passion for quality, authenticity, and refined living. Their collective perspectives shape each issue, creating a publication that is both visually rich and intellectually engaging.
